Herb Gruning, Ph.D.Herb Gruning, Ph.D.Herb Gruning, Ph.D., was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. With his wife, Alice, he has lived in many places in Canada and now lives near Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.
Dr. Gruning completed his Ph.D from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in the area of Philosophy of Religion. He graduated from that program with honors (cum laude). His dissertation was published by the University Press of America under the title How in the World Does God Act?
Since graduation, Dr Gruning has taught several courses in Religious Studies at multiple universities in both Canada and the United States. He currently teaches most often at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, which is a Jesuit institution. He has also taught at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Courses iinclude Religion and Science, and Christian Concepts of God. His main area of research is the thought of the philosopher-physicists Alfred North Whitehead and David Bohm.
